Your First Visit to Our Irving Practice

The first visit to the office is without a doubt the most important one!

Our office is fully automated, paperless, and high tech allowing precise adjustments and state of the art patient care.

Following a tour of the office you will meet Dr. Black and one of his assistants who will perform seven preliminary tests to determine what testing needs to be carried out to fully evaluate your case. A complete history of trauma will be discussed prior to any testing.  Most patients will need to have a full evaluation, including x-rays to fully understand the nature of your health problems.

Dr. Black is one of the few pioneers of Surface Electromyography in Texas.  In 1999 his office was one of the first to have the SEMG in family wellness practice. The seven tests are:

  1. Bilateral Weight Distribution
  2. Postural Assessment
  3. Palpation of the 24 spinal bones and surrounding tissues
  4. Leg length analysis
  5. Sacral analysis
  6. SEMG (electric and thermal components)
  7. X-rays performed in the standing postion as needed.

On the initial visit to Maximal Health you will learn about a condition termed "subluxation" (nerve stress cause by spinal bones mis-alignment).  If subluxation is found in your case we will recommend you begin a program to correct it.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Irving chiropractic patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Dr. Jason Asks some important questions of interest to Irving residents - Chiropractor Irving Dr. Jason Asks...

How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Irving encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
